§ 18-31. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Garage means a building, shed or enclosure, or any portion thereof, in which motor vehicles may be parked, stored, housed or kept, for which any charge is made.

    Motor vehicle means any automobile, truck, motor scooter, or other self-propelled vehicle not operated on tracks or from trolleys.

    Parking lot means any outdoor space, or uncovered plot, place, lot, parcel, yard or enclosure, or any portion thereof, where motor vehicles may be parked, stored, housed or kept, for which any charge is made. This definition shall specifically not apply to otherwise duly licensed and regulated businesses which charge for parking only as part of their principal business and for which such parking is appurtenant to their principal business.
