§ 2-128. Vacancies in office; final accounting.

  • Should the office of city clerk become vacated by tendered resignation, the resignation shall not be accepted until a final accounting has been approved. Should the office of city clerk become vacant because of disqualification or death, the president of the city council shall appoint one of the qualified electors of the city to survey the office which has become vacant and to render to the city council, after the survey, an accounting of the status of the office, which shall, if in proper order, be approved by the city council.
