§ 2-231. Guidelines for code compliance department.

There is hereby established a code compliance department. The City of Hialeah Gardens
does hereby establish operational guidelines for the code compliance department. These
operational guidelines shall coincide with the statutes of the State of Florida and
in particular, Chapter 162, "County or Municipal Code Compliance." The intent of this
division is to improve the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens of the city
by providing an equitable, expeditious, effective method of enforcing the various
codes that are pertinent to the city; inclusive of local business tax receipt, fire
prevention, building, land use, minimum housing, contractor, sign and related technical
codes.
This division also establishes the fines that correspond to the different types of
violations. The violation of any section of this Code as well as a violation of any
of the regulations set forth in section 2-250.2 of this division shall constitute a civil offense punishable by civil penalty in
the amount prescribed in section 2-250.2.
