§ 50-1. Certain size vehicles prohibited.

  • It shall be unlawful for any motor vehicle, except local traffic, in excess of 6,000 pounds gross weight to be driven or travel on any road within the corporate limits of the city, which has a sign posted prohibiting this use. All signs so posted shall be erected in such a manner that they are fairly visible to any motorist about to enter the roadway. Designation of the roads upon which the aforesaid motor vehicles are prohibited shall be made in writing by the mayor to the chief of police of the city. The supervision of the erection and maintenance of the signs will be at the direction of the chief of police. Special permission for exemption from this section, on good cause shown, may be granted in writing for a specified time by the mayor or chief of police.
