§ 14-37. Removal of dog excrement from public areas.

  • It shall be unlawful for the owner or person having custody of any dog to permit, either willfully or through failure to exercise due care or control, the dog to deposit excrement upon the sidewalk of any public street; or upon the floor of any common hall in any apartment house, tenement house, hotel, or other multiple dwelling; or upon any entranceway, stairway, or wall immediately abutting into a public sidewalk; or upon the floor of any other building used in common by the public. If such excrement is deposited by a dog, such person shall, immediately, properly pick it up and dispose of it in a proper place.
