§ 2-74. Agenda.

  • (a)

    There shall be an official agenda for every meeting of the city council, which shall determine the order of business conducted at the meeting. The city council shall not take action on any matter, proposal, or item of business which is not listed upon the official agenda, unless all of the city councilmembers present shall have first agreed to amend the agenda to include such item. No ordinance, resolution, or other matter listed on the agenda for public hearing or the vote thereon may be deferred until a later time unless two-thirds of the city council present shall vote in favor of the deferral.

    (b)

    The agenda shall be prepared by the city clerk in appropriate form approved by the city council. Matters may be placed on the agenda by any councilmember, the mayor, the city attorney, or the city clerk.

    (c)

    The deadline for placing matters on the agenda for regular meetings of the city council shall be noon of the seventh day preceding the day of the meeting.
