§ 2-301. Composition; appointments; terms of office; filling of vacancies.

  • (a)

    The personnel review board shall consist of five members to be appointed as follows.

    (1)

    Two of the members shall be appointed by the mayor and the city council on the basis of rotating appointment privileges as set forth in Ordinance No. 82-02, passed February 16, 1982, and Ordinance No. 85-02, passed March 19, 1985. The mayor shall have the first appointment and the council person shall have the second appointment and shall serve for a period of two years.

    (2)

    Two of the members shall be elected by permanent status employees of the city for a period of two years.

    (3)

    The fifth member shall be elected by a majority of the four members of the board who have been appointed or elected as set forth above, such member to be a resident of the city, or proprietor of an established business located within the city and shall serve for a period of two years.

    (b)

    Vacancies occurring on the board shall be filled for the unexpired term of any such vacancy in the same manner as the member of the board causing such vacancy was appointed or elected as the case may be. A member of the board may serve for more than one term and shall continue to serve until his successor has been appointed or elected.
